Project Overview

CAD21 have commenced design delivery of a new 3500m2 Social, Emotional and Mental Health School in Sleaford. The BB104 compliant school will provide teaching space from KS1 through to KS4.

CAD21 are appointed to deliver MEP design services from RIBA Stage 1 through to RIBA Stage 6 via Willmott Dixon for Lincoln City Council

The school will be designed in accordance with DfE Spec 21, along with the added challenge of having to be delivered totally off-grid. The proximity of the site is away from primary electricity supplies, that would not be in place until 2030.

CAD21 have delivered the adjacent £70m Secure Childrens Home and have been investigated combined energy solutions. Currently that route is to deliver a combination of PV battery storage and on-site generation via biofuel CHP.

The scheme is to be fully mechanically ventilated to provide the correct environment for the pupils.
