Healthcare

Healthcare made us who we are

Healthcare design is woven into the fabric of CAD21’s DNA. It defines our passion for creating thoughtful, human-centred environments, inspiring comfort and care with tangible and measurable improvements in patient experience and recovery outcomes.

More than 25 years of delivery with repeat NHS clients means that expertise runs consistently through our teams, and we’ve helped forge new design methods and processes to meet the ever-evolving requirements built into the design and construction journey for healthcare buildings.

A safe pair of hands

With strong client and key framework contractor relationships, our reputation is built on long-term partnering and trusted design service. Our healthcare client list is modest, but through repeat working and partnering over the past ten years we’ve been involved in over £750m of construction value in acute health and £480m in mental health.

Our processes suit healthcare delivery, and our approach is always to deliver best for the people who use the building. Health workers provide a formidable service for the community, and it’s our job, within our design, to enable that service and ease their everyday experience. Patient experience and recovery opportunity matter just as much. Delivering best means listening, so we help drive and direct stakeholder sessions, making sure all parties have a voice, with feedback.

Energy is a design decision

Operational costs are tight and sustainability matters more every year, so we design for performance from day one, interrogating how the building will be used and what the clinical workflow demands so we can reduce energy while protecting patient care.
