CAD21 are delivering the full RIBA design duties for the new Custody suite for Humberside Police on the South bank in Grimsby. The building is arranged on the Bravo model from the Willmott Dixon standardised custody design solutions called CODE. Grimsby is a 36 cell arrangement with accompanying Custody support areas. In addition, the building has a 1500m2 property store and an additional 1500m2 of office space.

Key Challenges:

• Fast track programme, delivering from RIBA 2 to RIBA 4a in 25 weeks.
• Establishing the occupational building profiling to suit he tri-services collaborative working environment to allow s to predict actual in use energy in line with TM54
• Agreement to the Home Office Guide derogations with the police force that made up the commercial offer under CODE

The building engineering solutions are high efficiency VRF heating and cooling systems in administrative areas, high efficiency plate heat exchangers on all AHU plants, lighting and automatic controls throughout, and PV panels on the main building’s roof.
