Child and adolescent mental health (CAMHS)

P21 procured design of a new build, 42 bed, 4 wards and shared activity centre MSU/ LDU Mental Health Hospital based on part of existing site at Prudhoe Hospital. The mechanical design solution incorporated high efficiency air source heat pump boilers supplemented by gas fired boilers and a solar panel hot water system feeding high efficiency gas fired water heaters.  Under floor heating and on-demand extract ventilation solutions contributed to an energy efficient solution to meet the Client needs.

CAD21 designed all of the building services systems.  This scheme was one of the first to offer off ward maintenance, enabled with the integration of service walkways and the extensive use of BMS controls for thermostatic mixing valve testing, push button sanitary ware, hot water monitoring, heating, on-demand ventilation, and sub metering.
