CAD21 has been appointed as part of a Client led direct professional team to deliver the new Berwick Hospital, appointed directly by Northumbria Healthcare Facilities Management Limited (NHFML).  The scheme is currently approaching end of RIBA 4 design stage.

The new hospital is designed for modular construction and incorporates substantial MEP dfma measures.  The scheme design aims to achieve a low / zero in use net carbon target and like other current health designs ongoing, offers an all- electric solution.

The scheme is located on the existing Berwick Hospital site.  The project includes demolition of redundant buildings, infrastructure modification both for retained services and also new supplies to meet new demand, decant strategy and finally modular construction of a new build, 2 storey clinical services building.

The proposed scheme is to accommodate a wide range of acute services, which include Endoscopy, Maternity, Outpatients, Oncology, Rehab, 24 bed Inpatient Ward, Primary Care facility and associated support and back office functions.
